Homes evacuated after Edinburgh water burst Clear-up after Edinburgh flood incident

Residents have been evacuated from their homes following flooding from a burst water main in Edinburgh. A clear-up operation is underway in the west of Edinburgh after a burst water main caused chaos for residents.
There has been significant localised flooding in the city's Slateford area, and bottled water is being supplied to nursing homes and hospitals. The incident at 0330 BST, in the city's Slateford area, saw significant localised flooding around Allan Park Road.
The burst happened in Allan Park Road at about 0330 BST. Residents were offered the chance to move to alternative accommodation.
Lothian and Borders Police said repairs were under way and were expected to take several hours to complete. Police warned there was a risk of disruption to water supplies, other utilities, road and rail links across the west side of the city.
