Version 0 of 1.

Four children have been treated for the effects of smoke after a fire which has caused severe damage to two neighbouring houses in south London.

Thirty firefighters were called to Marsden Road in East Dulwich at 1525 BST on Sunday.

The children had managed to escape before the emergency crews arrived.

The roof was destroyed in the house where the fire broke out, while there was significant damage to the second, adjoining property.

London Fire Brigade said 75% of the ground floor and 50% of the first floor had been damaged in the first building.

About half of the ground floor in the second building was destroyed, along with 10% of the first floor and roof, it added.

The blaze has now been extinguished but crews remain at the scene.
