Bouncy castle breaks free injuring three children | |

Three children were hurt after a bouncy castle broke loose from its tether, police have said. | |
The incident happened at the White House Hotel on the West Cliff in Whitby at about 1440 BST. | |
A seven-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with broken bones. His injuries are serious but not thought to be life-threatening. | |
A girl, aged seven, and a nine-year-old boy were taken by ambulance to hospital with less serious injuries. | |
'Stable conditions' | |
The girl is thought to have suffered concussion and the boy had broken a bone in his leg, North Yorkshire Police said. | |
They were both taken to Scarborough District Hospital while the seven-year-old boy was flown to the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough. | |
An investigation is under way into what happened. | |
A police spokesman said: "All three remain in hospital in stable conditions. The bouncy castle was recovered with the help of officers from the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. | |
"There is no longer any police involvement with this incident and the circumstances leading to the bouncy leaving its tether will be conducted by officers from the environmental health department at Scarborough District Council." |
