Man held after woman's body found in Grangemouth

A man has been detained after the discovery of a woman's body at a house in Grangemouth at the weekend.

Central Scotland Police said the woman, who has not been named, was found dead at the house in Almond Street shortly after 1700 BST on Sunday.

Officers said inquiries were ongoing and a man was being held in connection with an incident at the address.

A spokeswoman said: "The investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is in its early stages."
