Arrest over John Lewis child abduction attempt

A woman has been arrested after a suspected child abduction attempt in a city centre store in Nottingham.

The 38-year-old, arrested on Thursday evening, was taken into custody and is due to be interviewed by detectives, police said.

A child was approached at the John Lewis store in the Victoria Centre at about 1555 BST by a woman who ran off when challenged by the mother.

The youngster was not hurt and is safe and well.
