Cambridgeshire Police said a search for it had resumed on Wednesday morning after being called off earlier because of poor visibility.
Search and rescue helicopters, one from RAF Leconfield in Yorkshire and the other based at Wattisham in Suffolk, are scouring an area south west of RAF Wittering between Peterborough and Stamford.
