Police concern after man abducted Man abducted at gunpoint by gang

A 55-year-old man has been abducted in the southside of Glasgow. A 58-year-old man has been abducted by three armed men in Glasgow.
Javed Mukhtar was last seen on Saturday morning in Shawmoss Road, near Pollok Country Park. Javed Mukhtar was taken from his home in Shawmoss Road and bundled into a white van by the masked men just before midnight on Friday.
Strathclyde Police confirmed they had been called to the area after members of the public reported seeing men with what appeared to be a firearm. His son, Rizwad Javed, made an emotional plea for Mr Mukhtar's safe return. He said: "He is a loving father and we are all obviously devastated."
However, no further details have been released. A spokesman for the police urged anyone with any information to contact them. The area, near Pollok Country Park has been sealed off and officers are carrying out door to door inquires.
Strathclyde Police said they were extremely worried for Mr Mukhtar's welfare.
He is a diabetic and had been fasting for the Muslim festival of Ramadan.
