The police have used a water cannon after coming under attack from a crowd of around 100 to 200 people throwing missiles and stones in the Broadway area of west Belfast. Crowds of nationalists have thrown petrol bombs and masonry at police during trouble in west Belfast.
The police said two officers had been injured and may require medical treatment. Water cannons have been used in the Broadway and Falls Road areas of the city.

The NI Fire and Rescue Service said one of its appliances was damaged during a disturbance and was taken out of service. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it was dealing with around one call every 75 seconds. By 0100 BST it had recieved 180 fire calls, a 65% increase on the previous year.
It said it has attended five bonfire related incidents in the greater Belfast area, including one in which two shops were damaged. A spokesman said its efforts to protect the community were being hampered by the street violence. One fire appliance was damaged by youths throwing stones and was taken out of service. Another vehicle was deployed.
A spokesperson for the NIFRS said efforts to protect the community were being hampered by the disturbances. In addition to this, the NIFRS said it brought two contingency appliances into service to ensure it could keep up with demand.
