A Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it had received a number of calls saying a fire had started at the back of the building.
"The indications were that it was a significant fire so we initially sent three fire engines... when crews arrived they were confronted by a developing fire in the 50m by 25m building.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said: "There are a significant number of police officers deployed in Gloucester at present, and the fire service are dealing with the building fire. "What we have seen taking place in Gloucester overnight have been copycat incidents which do not appear to have been co-ordinated in any way," he added.
"Support has been called upon from colleagues in a neighbouring force, who have supplied officers included mounted officers, and the force helicopter is also being used to monitor the situation. Detectives are appealing for anyone with photographs or video of the disorder to contact them.
"So far nine arrests have been made, and they are aged between 16 and 40, but more are likely to follow. All remain in custody for questioning.
"Police officers have not suffered any injuries, however a number of bottles and rocks have been thrown at police vehicles.
"What we have seen taking place in Gloucester overnight have been copycat incidents which do not appear to have been co-ordinated in any way.
"While we had hoped this type of criminality would not take place here, we were well prepared."
Detectives were also appealing for anyone with photographs or video of the disorder to contact them.
