Court hearing over pub shooting Man charged with pub murder bid

A man is expected to appear in court later in connection with a shooting incident at a Belfast city centre bar last week. A 29-year-old man has been remanded in custody on an attempted murder charge following a shooting at a Belfast bar.

No-one was injured during the attack. The 29-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday. Patrick McMahon from Clifton Crescent in the city was also accused of making threats to kill and having ammunition.
He is charged with making threats to kill and possessing ammunition. A detective said he believed he could connect the accused to the charges. He said he accepted the murder bid charge was based on circumstantial evidence.
But he told Belfast Magistrate's Court that the police believed it to be "very strong" circumstantial evidence.
Mr McMahon is due to appear in court again next month.
