A murder inquiry has been launched after two women were found dead at a house in Oxfordshire. | |
Police were called to the house in Ireton Court, Thame, at about 02:20 BST. They said the women appeared to have sustained stab wounds. | |
A third woman was also injured and taken to hospital but her condition is not thought to be life threatening. | |
A 21-year-old man was arrested in Thame Market Place shortly after the incident and taken to Abingdon police station. | |
He remains in custody. | |
The two women who died at the scene have not yet been formally identified. | |
Post-mortem examinations are due to take place to determine the cause of death but a police spokesman said the women appeared to have sustained stab wounds during the incident. | |
Senior investigating officer Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman, from Thames Valley Police, said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation. | |
"We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder. | |
"At this time it appears that all parties are known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this case. | |
"We are working hard to establish the full circumstances of this incident and what led to the tragic deaths of these two women." | |
