Police remain at the scene of the stabbing, a force spokesman said. Much of Cockerham Walk has been cordoned off while forensic teams examine the scene for evidence.
'Dodgy reputation'
Local resident James Cairns said: "The forensic people have been up and down the street looking on our front paths - it's all very busy.
Mr Cairns said the victim lived with his parents and brother near the scene of the stabbing.
He added: "You read about this sort of thing in the papers but you never expect it on your doorstep.
"It's a big shock. Grange Park has got a bit of a dodgy reputation for violence but in the years we've been here we've never been burgled.
"It's as good as anywhere in Blackpool nowadays."
