Players will be able to challenge line calls via a video replay system at January's Australian Open.

Organisers have confirmed Hawk-Eye technology will be used on Rod Laver Arena, following its success at this year's US Open.

However, they have yet to decide whether to limit the amount of challenges a player can make.

Meanwhile, the prize money on offer has been set at a tournament record £680,000 for the singles winners.

The total prize money has increased by five per cent on this year's tournament.

Tournament director Craig Tiley said he was excited about the introduction of Hawk-Eye.

"It will be a fantastic innovation for the fans. We will have two giant screens at Rod Laver Arena and it will be a great way of involving spectators," he said.

The Australian Open takes place at Melbourne Park from 15 to 28 January.
