People and dogs trapped in Torquay flat fire rescued

Two people and three dogs have been rescued from a fire in Devon.

Emergency services, including a fire brigade aerial platform, were called to the property in Rock Road, Torquay, just after midnight.

The occupants of the first floor flat were trapped by the fire and crews used a ladder to rescue them and three family pets.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said an investigation into how the fire started is under way.
