A 16-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted in the grounds of a church in the West Midlands.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which they said happened some time between 22:00 BST on Friday and midnight.

A police spokesman said the assault happened in the grounds of St Giles Church, in Walsall Street, Willenhall.

The suspect is described as a tall, white male, aged about 19 or 20 with brown hair, a moustache and brown eyes.

He was wearing a black hooded top with green and orange writing on it, black silky trousers and black trainers, the spokesman said.

Anybody who saw a man fitting the description around St Giles Church at the time is asked to contact police.
