Police investigating the death of a tourist from Wales in India seven years ago have arrested a man on suspicion of murder. A man has been arrestedc seven years after a woman fell to her death while travelling in India with her husband.

It was thought she fell from a height while on holiday with her husband. Police who travelled to India for a review into the case - initially found not to be suspicious - confirmed a 50-year-old man was being questioned.

Mrs Davies was 39 when she died. Mrs Davies it believed she had fallen from a height resulting in fatal injuries.
Det Insp Mark Lewis said her death on 27 February, 2004 was investigated by the Himachal Pradesh State police where no suspicious circumstances were found. A spokesman confirmed on Thursday that the man, who has not been named, had been brought to south Wales from his home in Milton Keynes for questioning.
'Positive development' He had previously lived in the Bridgend area.
But detectives from south Wales travelled to India as part of a review of the case. Detective Inspector Mark Lewis said: "Whilst I consider this arrest to be a positive development in the investigation I am also appealing for any information surrounding the circumstances of this death.
The force said the 50-year-old man has been brought to south Wales for questioning.

Mrs Davies and her husband were living in Bridgend at the time she died. Her body was returned to the UK where her funeral took place at Coychurch Crematorium, Bridgend in March 2004.
