Police have launched a manhunt after a young girl was killed and her mother injured in a hit-and-run incident. Police have urged witnesses to a hit-and-run in Edinburgh which killed four-year-old Olivia Donachie to contact them.
The incident happened in the Colinton area of Edinburgh at about 1530 BST on Wednesday afternoon. Officers have been hunting for a man who fled the scene of the accident in the Colinton area of the city at about 1530 BST on Wednesday.
Four-year-old Olivia Donachie died at the scene in Westgarth Avenue, while her mother Rachel, 33, is critically ill in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Olivia's mother Rachel, 33, remains critically ill in hospital.

Ch Insp Paul Bullen, of Lothian and Borders Police, described the chain of events. Officers said the first crash happened in Lanark Road at the Gillespie Crossroads and the second one in Bridge Road in nearby Colinton Village.
He said: "There was a number of calls received after 3.20pm relating to accidents in the area. No-one was injured in the Gillespie Crossroads incident but two women suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision in Bridge Road.
"The first one being at Gillespie Crossroads at the Lanark Road. Subsequent to that there was another accident at Bridge Road in Colinton Village. An incident room has been established at Gayfield Square Police Station.
"At that one there were three vehicles involved and there were two females who received minor injuries as a result of that accident. Chief Inspector Paul Bullen, of Lothian and Borders Police, appealed for information, especially from bus passengers.
"And very quickly thereafter a collision in Redford Drive at Westgarth Avenue where two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle." He said: "We know that when the fatal crash happened there were two Lothian Transport buses, numbers 10 and 16 nearby and we would like to hear from anyone on them who may have seen what happened or have any information about the incident.
"When the collision happened at Gillespie Crossroads there was a number 45 bus nearby and those passengers should come forward.
"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the fatal crash yesterday afternoon or saw a green Cherokee jeep driving erratically and has any information about what happened."
