Version 0 of 1.

Five Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip were injured after two vehicles they were in were attacked by Israeli war planes, Palestinian officials said.

The missile strike happened in Beit Hanoun, close to the Israeli border.

The Israeli military said the cars were being used by militants to launch rocket attacks into Israel.

Palestinian militants frequently fire homemade rockets over the border and Israel carries out strikes against militants suspected of being involved.

Israel began a massive military campaign in Gaza on 28 June, three days after Palestinian militants killed two soldiers and seized another in a cross-border raid.

More than 230 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the offensive began.

About half of those killed were civilians or were not taking part in any hostilities at the time of their death, Palestinian medics and an Israeli human rights group have said.
