South Lanarkshire Council said 15 primary schools and one nursery were closed due to the snow. Law Primary was closed to the nursery class. South Lanarkshire Council said all its school were expected to open as normal on Tuesday.
In the Highlands four primary schools and one secondary school were affected by snow. In Dumfries and Galloway two primary schools have been closed. On Monday the local authority closed 15 primary schools and two nurseries due to the snow.
Highland Council, which had four primary schools and one secondary closed on Monday, said it had no reports of any planned closures for Tuesday.
Two primaries closed in Dumfries and Galloway were also due to reopen in the morning.
