Mr Binks said the orchestra was due to perform in Knaresborough on Saturday night but the concert had to be cancelled at short notice because of the theft.
He said: "We only found out at 6pm and the concert was starting at 7.30pm. There was a big audience anticipated so there were a lot of disappointed people."
