DUP MP Jeffrey Donaldson is giving evidence to the Smithwick Tribunal in Dublin. Jeffrey Donaldson has told a Dublin tribunal a former IRA man and informer told him a Garda sergeant in Dundalk had passed information to the IRA.
The Lagan Valley MP has previously accused a retired garda sergeant of tipping off the IRA about the movements of two senior RUC officers in 1989. The DUP MP named retired Detective Sergeant Owen Corrigan as being a "rogue garda" in the House of Commons in April 2000.
Chief Supt Harry Breen and Supt Bob Buchanan were shot dead in an IRA ambush in south Armagh as they returned from a meeting in Dundalk. The Smithwick tribunal is investigating alleged collusion in the deaths of two senior RUC officers in 1989.

In the House of Commons in April 2000, Mr Donaldson, using parliamentary privilege, named retired Detective Sergeant Owen Corrigan as a "rogue Garda" officer. Mr Donaldson said he was told about Mr Corrigan by Kevin Fulton, also known as Peter Keeley, who claims to have been a British intelligence agent who infiltrated the IRA.
The MP referred in his statement to evidence "that the retired member of the force had passed information to the IRA". The DUP man told the tribunal that he had checked who Kevin Fulton was with an unnamed security officer.
Mr Corrigan has denied all allegations of collusion and successfully sued newspapers which published similar claims. Mr Corrigan denies the allegations against him.
Mr Donaldson has previously said he does not regret naming Mr Corrigan, he said he made a judgement in the public interest.
Lawyers for Mr Corrigan are expected to question Mr Donaldson about what evidence he has to support the claims he made under parliamentary privilege.Lawyers for Mr Corrigan are expected to question Mr Donaldson about what evidence he has to support the claims he made under parliamentary privilege.
