A 50-year-old man has been been charged after a 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death and a 60-year-old woman was seriously injured in Liverpool. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 19-year-old woman and attempted murder of her 60-year-old mother in Liverpool.
Police were called to Hill Street, Toxteth at about 15:50 GMT on Saturday by neighbours. Stephen Burns, 50, of no fixed abode appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court earlier.
Natalie O'Donoghue and her mother Violet Burns were taken to hospital but Miss O'Donoghue died. Ms Burns is critical but stable, police said. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance at Liverpool Crown Court on 23 December.
The man has been charged with murder and attempted murder. Police were called to Hill Street, Toxteth, at about 15:50 GMT on Saturday.
