Roads in central Scotland, the Strathclyde and Lothian and Borders police areas, and Dumfries and Galloway were quickly covered by snow. Police services in Strathclyde, Central, Tayside and Dumfries and Galloway issued warnings to drivers to "travel with caution".

On the M80 from Falkirk to Glasgow road, the snow has stopped and light rain is clearing the road.
Two accidents on the M8 at junction 4 Whitburn in West Lothian were causing serious problems and there were blizzard conditions at Harthill Services in North Lanarkshire.
There was also lying snow causing problems on the M77 Klimarnock-Glasgow road at Fenwick in Ayrshire.
