Four people have been injured in an accident which has closed the A1(M) between West and North Yorkshire. Drivers on the A1(M) between West and North Yorkshire have been experiencing long delays after a lorry overturned.
It happened at about 06:20 GMT when a lorry travelling southbound overturned between junction 45, Boston Spa, and junction 44, Bramham, spilling its load on the northbound carriageway. Three people had to be freed from their vehicles. Two had suffered serious injuries. Four people were hurt, with two of them suffering serious injuries.
The A1(M) is not expected to reopen until about 16:00 GMT. The Highways Agency said drivers were facing up to three hour delays. The road is due to re-open at 20:00 GMT.
