Strictly Come Dancing: McFly's Harry Judd lifts trophy
(about 21 hours later)
McFly musician Harry Judd is the favourite to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing series on Saturday night.
The pop drummer will compete alongside Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey and actor Jason Donovan for the glitterball trophy.
McFly musician Harry Judd has been voted the winner of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.
All three have been training hard ahead of the final, which takes place at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
The pop drummer beat Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healey to lift the glittterball trophy at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom.
For the first time, the competition will also be screened in 3D on the BBC HD channel and at selected UK cinemas.
Judd was also the judges' favourite, scoring a maximum of 40 points on two dances - his first of the series.
The stars, who have tapped, tangoed and twirled for 13 weeks to reach the final, are hoping to perform four routines each.
Singer Jason Donovan was eliminated and finished third after the first part of the contest.
However, one couple will be eliminated after the first two dances, following a public vote.
Judd and Healey went on to revisit their favourite performance from the series as part of their head-to-head clash, with the musician bagging a full 40 points for a moody Argentine tango.
So far, Judd has the highest average mark of the series, but he is also the only one of the three who has not scored a perfect 40.
The 23-year-old actress, partnered by Pasha Kovalev, performed a quickstep with an airport theme, but was denied full marks when judge Craig Revel-Horwood awarded them a nine.
The drummer said he owed his ability to dance to his professional trainer and dance partner, Aliona Vilani.
The final also included the show's judges selecting a routine from the preceding heats for the celebrities to repeat.
"Without Aliona I'm nothing on the dance floor, I'm afraid," he said.
Donovan danced the tango to Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive, Judd performed his quickstep from week nine, while Healey will relived her jive to the The Monkees' I'm A Believer.
Australian Donovan said he was excited to be performing on the Tower Ballroom's iconic dancefloor.
The Australian singer and actor scored a maximum mark of 40 for his glitzy freestyle routine with the judges, but it was not enough to save him from early elimination, with the lowest number of public votes.
"It's a little cold up here but I'm warm in my heart with anticipation," he added.
For the first time, the show was screened in 3D on the BBC HD channel and at selected UK cinemas.
"This experience is bigger than I ever expected."
The final will see the show's judges select a routine from the preceding heats for the celebrities to repeat.
Donovan will dance the tango to Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive; Judd will perform his quickstep from week nine; while Healey will relive her jive to the The Monkees' I'm A Believer.
Healey, the youngest contestant at 23, said she was most looking forward to her show dance, which will be to the accompaniment of Beyonce's One Night Only.
"I've been told I've got a Beyonce outfit, so I'm pleased with that. So I can shake it," she said.
The two celebrities that survive the public vote will also get to revisit their favourite performance from the series - with two contestants choosing to attempt the intricate footwork of the quickstep.
Last year, EastEnders actress Kara Tointon and her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev were crowned winners.
