Abdullah al-Harthi, a spokesman for the Royal Oman Police, said by Thursday afternoon that at least 20 deaths had been blamed on the cyclone and 24 people were reported missing. People in the Omani capital, Muscat, are continuing a clean-up operation, removing uprooted trees and overturned cars, and clearing away piles of mud.
