No charges over prostitute deaths

A man arrested on suspicion of murdering five women in the Ipswich area of Suffolk has been released from bail without charge. Tom Stephens, 38, was arrested at his home in Trimley St Martin, near Felixstowe, on 18 December 2006. It followed the discovery of the bodies of Gemma Adams, Anneli Alderton, Tania Nicol, Annette Nicholls and Paula Clennell between 2 and 12 December. Steve Wright, 48, of Ipswich, has been charged with their murders. A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said: "Suffolk Police can confirm a 38-year-old man arrested in connection with the deaths of five women in late 2006 has had his bail cancelled. "He faces no further action in connection with this inquiry." |
