| Det Supt Alan Buchanan, who is leading the investigation, said Mr Pollock had "sustained a gunshot wound" and although paramedics were quickly at the scene they had been unable to save him. | |

| Det Supt Buchanan said Mr Pollock was well known in the Hunterhill area of the town as "Pollock" and was usually seen walking his golden retriever dog. | |
