'Treated as a daughter'
Following the hearing Mr Twigg's parents, Janice and Roy, issued a statement, read by Det Insp Andy Wardell.
The couple said they had lost their only son "at the hands of someone they treated as a daughter".
They described Mr Twigg as a decent, hard working man, who took great pride in his work and the service he provided to people.
They said of Ms Dixon: "We do not want to comment on our thoughts about Julie Dixon, who has finally admitted to murdering our wonderful son.
"But we are happy to say we have seen justice finally done."
The couple said they wished to leave Ms Dixon to think about "what she had done" and the "devastating effect this has had on David's family, friends and workmates".
