Fishermen rescued from River Trent in Nottinghamshire Fisherman dies after boat overturns in the River Trent

Two fisherman had to be rescued from the River Trent in Nottinghamshire after their boat overturned. A fisherman has died after the boat he was in overturned on the River Trent in Nottinghamshire.
Specialist rescue teams based in Tuxford and Highfields along with fire crews from three stations were called to Cromwell Weir at about 10:00 GMT. Police were called to Cromwell Lock at about 10:00 GMT following reports a fishing vessel had overturned and its two occupants had gone into the water.
The two men were pulled from the water and taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service, a fire and rescue spokeswoman said. The two men, aged 48 and 57, and from Yorkshire, were pulled from the water by specialist fire and rescue teams.
The extent of their injuries is not yet known. They were both taken to Lincoln County Hospital where the 57-year-old man later died.
The 48-year-old man remains in a stable condition in hospital where he is being treated for hypothermia.
