Centre evacuated after flooding City floods after torrential rain

A shopping centre in east Belfast has had to be evacuated after heavy rain caused it to flood. Torrential rain has caused widespread flooding throughout Belfast.
Members of the public were moved from Connswater Shopping Centre after water poured through ceiling vents. Connswater Shopping Centre in the east of the city was closed after heavy rain caused it to flood. The emergency services are now at the scene.
Pedestrians on nearby Bloomfield Avenue are having to wade through flood water which is knee deep. Meanwhile, rainwater has leaked into the third and fourth floors of Parliament Buildings at Stormont.
Deputy Speaker John Dallat warned MLAs the flooding may have damaged the building's fire alarm system causing it to be activated by accident.
Strandtown Primary School and police station have also flooded.
It has been reported that cars are floating down Ladas Drive and Channing Street, off the Castlereagh Road.
