A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman died following a disturbance in the centre of Edinburgh on Tuesday. Tributes have been paid to a 32-year-old woman who died after being stabbed at flats in Edinburgh.
Police were called to the incident in West Tollcross at about 18:20. Carolyn Ellis died after being found with serious stab wounds when police were called to a disturbance in West Tollcross at about 18:20 on Tuesday.
Officers discovered the 32-year-old woman with serious stab wound injuries. She died a short time later. Her parents, Judy and Bernard, said Ms Ellis was a "wonderful" and "caring" daughter who was very popular.
The man has also been charged with a number of alleged assaults. He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday. A 28-year-old man has been charged with her murder and is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

In a statement, released through Lothian and Borders Police, Ms Ellis' parents said: "Carolyn Ann was a wonderful and caring person who always made time for her family and many friends.
"She lit up the world of everyone she met and was very popular. No one ever had a bad word to say about her.
"As a family, we are devastated to have lost such a special daughter and sister and we would now ask for privacy as we try to come to terms with our grief."
