Version 0 of 1.

New information is being assessed by detectives investigating the murder of a Kent schoolgirl 19 years ago.

Claire Tiltman, 16, was stabbed to death in an alleyway just off the A226 London Road, Greenhithe, while on her way to see a friend.

Last week, her father made an appeal from his nursing home to find her killer.

Officers said that since then they had received "a number of calls" which they were investigating.

On the anniversary of his daughter's death last week, Cliff Tiltman, 62, said it would "mean everything" to him to find out who murdered his daughter in 1993.

Killer 'local'

A spokeswoman for Kent Police said: "Following last week's appeal, a number of calls were made to the incident room detailing information which is now being fully investigated."

Det Ch Insp Rob Vinson, from Kent Police, said: "I have always maintained that the killer was a local person and that someone knows who he or she is."

The Dartford Grammar School for Girls pupil was stabbed more than 40 times, in an apparently motiveless attack, four days after her 16th birthday.

No-one has ever been charged with the murder.

Claire's mother Lin died at the age of 56 in 2008 with the case still unsolved.
