Man and woman found dead at house
(about 9 hours later) | |
A man and woman have been found dead at a house in North Yorkshire - the woman, 23, found in bed and the 27-year-old man found hanged in the bedroom.
Police officers forced their way into the property in Slingsby Crescent, Harrogate, on Wednesday night.
Neighbours told the BBC they had raised the alarm after becoming concerned about the woman, who had lived at the house for the past eight years.
She had not been seen since Monday when shouting was heard at the house.
Officers said the deaths were being treated as suspicious. The house was sealed off while inquiries continued.
Post-mortem examinations on the man and woman, who have not yet been named, were due to be carried out later.
One neighbour, Tanya Taggart, told BBC Look North: "I can't get my head around it, I don't think it has hit me properly.
"I see her all the time and I always talk to her, she is lovely. When I heard what had happened I just couldn't believe it." |
