Probe into Rhynie cottage blaze amid fears for resident

An investigation is to be carried out into an Aberdeenshire cottage fire amid fears the occupier may have been inside.

Grampian Police and Grampian Fire and Rescue were called to the property in Rhynie at about 16:30 on Friday.

Police said it was so far being treated as unexplained.

Firefighters left the scene on Saturday afternoon, and the fire service said a full investigation was expected to get under way on Monday.
