One person has died and another has been injured in a shooting in Manchester city centre. One man has died and another has been injured following a shooting in the centre of Manchester.
The incident happened in the Victoria Park area, near Manchester Royal Infirmary, just before 1900 BST. Officers were called to the Victoria Park area of the city at around 1850 BST on Friday evening, where they found the two men.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said several roads surrounding the area had been cordoned off, including Anson Road. Both men - in their early twenties - were taken to hospital following the incident in Anson Road, but one of the victims later died.
Detectives were at the scene shortly afterwards and an investigation has been opened. Police said the other man's condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
