Kulveer Ranger, the Mayor's environment director, said in response to the report: "The Mayor was ahead of national government policy when he first championed the use of electric vehicles in the capital in recognition of their myriad benefits, including to deliver cleaner air. He has taken a raft of pioneering steps to encourage their uptake, including the development of the capital's first city-wide and largest charge point network, Source London, to make electric driving a far easier choice. " He added that London had more electric vehicles than anywhere else in the UK.
