Version 0 of 1.

Police have traced a third man they believe may be an essential witness to a drive-by shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

Shots were fired into a red Renault Megane travelling down Anson Road in the Victoria Park area of Manchester.

Two men from the Megane were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, but one died later. Police have found a third man from the car who left the scene.

He was found safe and well and is helping police with their inquiries.

The shots were fired from another car at 1850 BST on Friday.

Silver saloon

Police believe it was a light-coloured or possibly silver saloon, with at least four people inside.

The wounded men were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where the 24-year-old was pronounced dead.

The 21-year-old suffered a wound to his right hand.

Officers are appealing for anyone who knows the whereabouts of this car to come forward.
