Giving evidence on the second day of the trial, Mrs Pilley said Suzanne had changed the locks on her flat shortly before Christmas 2009.
She told the High Court in Edinburgh that this followed an incident in which Mr Gilroy had thrown her daughter's possessions out of the kitchen window of the flat.
Mrs Pilley later described the last text she received from Suzanne, which thanked her for feeding her cat.
The message also asked if she could borrow her father's phone to obtain discounted cinema tickets for her new date the following evening.
