The funeral of a police officer who died while answering a 999 call will be held with full police honours, his family have said.

Pc Jon Henry, 36, was stabbed on 11 June after responding to reports of an attack on a window cleaner in Luton.

The funeral will be held at the Holy Ghost church, Luton, on 2 July. The cortege is to stop outside Luton police station so colleagues can say goodbye.

Tennyson Obih, of Winsdon Road, Luton, is charged with Mr Henry's murder.

The 27-year-old is also charged with the attempted murder of two window cleaners - Steven Chamberlain and David Knight.

Mr Obih, who was remanded in custody, is due to appear at Luton Crown Court on 5 July.

Bedfordshire Police said after consulting with the family, Mr Henry's funeral, at 1100 BST, will be held with full police honours, which will include a salute, guard of honour and Scottish piper.

It will be followed by a private burial.

A spokesman advised of traffic congestion in the area of the Westbourne Road church, and asked motorists to avoid the area.
