A car park attendant is recovering after being grabbed through the front window of his hut during an attack in north Belfast.

Police said the attendant was grabbed by one of four men who demanded money from him at the York Street car park at about 0600 BST on Wednesday.

The man was initially held and then dragged from his hut and forced to hand over a sum of cash.

The men, aged between 18 and 20, then made off towards nearby Henry Street.

The assailants are described as wearing blue and light blue tracksuits.

One had short fair hair while another was wearing a grey baseball cap.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the robbery to get in touch.

An elderly attendant at a car park a short distance away was so badly beaten in a similar attack in January that he was unable to return to work.

The part-time worker, who was aged 75 and suffering from cancer, was said by police to have been hit 12 times around the head.
