A convicted robber who groped a lap-dancer days after his release from prison has been sent back to jail.

Christopher Korankye said he got "very excited" as he celebrated his first week of freedom after a five-year term.

London's Southwark Crown Court heard that he invited the dancer to his Paddington flat before molesting her.

Korankye, who was found guilty of sexual assault and falsely imprisoning the woman, was remanded in custody until he is sentenced on 16 August.

He had visited a lap-dancing club in London on 22 December last year to celebrate his freedom as well as his 25th birthday and a £55,000 inheritance from his late mother.

"I had spent a lot of time in prison and not been with a woman for quite a long time so I was very happy to have a lap dance," he told the court.

After he molested the woman, she managed to reach a window in his flat and mouth the words "call the police" to a passer-by.

The defendant, who has 35 previous convictions, had claimed everything that had happened in his flat had been with the woman's consent.
