Police in South Yorkshire searching for a teenage boy who was swept away by floodwater have found a body. Two people have been killed in Sheffield as massive floods raged through the city.
The boy disappeared near the playground in Millhouses Park in Sheffield. The River Sheaf, which runs alongside the park, had burst its banks. Police hunting for a 13-year-old boy who was swept away in Millhouses Park found a body about a quarter of a mile from where he vanished.
Police said a body was found by underwater rescue teams a quarter of a mile downstream from where the 13-year-old boy went missing. And minutes later a 68-year-old man died as he was washed away as he got out of his car in the Wicker area.
The body has not yet been identified. The park has been closed. Hundreds of people were trapped in homes and offices and RAF helicopters flew in to help with the rescue.
