Asked about his movements first thing that day, he consistently replied: "I'm not going to answer that."

He insisted he did not want to jeopardise his appeal by giving evidence.

Later on Friday, a friend of the Donald family, John Manson, 22, broke down as he described how schoolboy Kriss as attacked by four "grown men" in Kenmure Street.
He wiped tears from his eyes as he recalled Kriss shouting: "I am only 15, I am only 15. Let me go."
Asked if he could describe the attackers, Mr Manson said: "One was big, like a body builder. Very, very big."
He continued: "They were bigger than Kriss and Jamie, more like adults than boys."

Mr Manson described how the men were punching, kicking, swearing and pulling Kriss into the Mercedes as he pleaded with them to let him go.
The other boy - Jamie Wallace the trial heard - escaped when one of the men tried to grab him, and only caught hold of his cap.
Kriss' jacket was torn off and the car sped away with him inside.
