Missing pair found safe and well

A couple who were reported missing in the Highlands have been found safe.

The pair set off from Kyleakin on Skye on Friday morning heading for Sheildaig, near Applecross, on the Scottish mainland.

The alarm was raised when the couple, who are from Sheildaig, failed to reach their destination.

Northern Constabulary launched a search operation, assisted by Stornoway Coastguard, and the couple were traced safe and well on Saturday.
