Islington will wait to enforce Occupy Finsbury Square ruling Islington will wait to enforce Occupy Finsbury Square ruling
(about 1 month later)
A London borough will not enforce until after the bank holiday a high court ruling to end the seven-month occupation of Finsbury Square as an extension of the Occupy movement camp at St Paul's. Mr Justice Hickinbottom said the balance was "overwhelmingly in favour" of granting Islington council immediate possession of the camp of about 135 tents and a wooden structure. The judge heard it had cost £20,000 in damage, £26,000 on security and lost £12,000 income from the square's restaurant. The camp, which became a focus for the homeless, had no running water or sufficient toilet facilities.
