Public safety
No-one is thought to have been injured but there were reports of gas canisters inside the building which led incident commanders to consider evacuating homes in the area.
The fire service brought the blaze under control and this step was thought unnecessary, the spokesperson said.
"Householders in the immediate vicinity were advised to stay indoors and to close doors and windows.
"Police worked with the fire service to determine what further action may be required in order to protect public safety," the spokesperson said.
"If advised that an evacuation had been advised as necessary officers would have gone door to door to advise residents."
