Halifax woman charged over dead baby find in 2006 | |

A 46-year-old woman from Halifax has appeared in court charged with the concealment of a birth six years ago. | |
Angela Owen was arrested in the Avon and Somerset Police area in the early hours of Friday after an appeal on the BBC Crimewatch programme. | |
The newborn boy's body was found in a bin bag in the grounds of Howroyd Hall, Barkisland, in July 2006. | |
Ms Owen was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court on 11 June. | |
A post-mortem examination at the time the body was found revealed the baby was born full-term and could have been at Howroyd Hall for up to a year before being found. | |
Police initially said there were no suspicious circumstances but since a review of the case earlier this year officers have treated the death as suspicious. | |
Ms Owen also faces two charges of of obtaining goods by deception, three charges of obtaining services by deception and a charge of conspiracy to defraud. |
