Hamas men killed in Israeli raid Gaza raids kill 11 Palestinians

Israeli military forces have killed at least six members of the Islamist Palestinian movement Hamas, in a cross-border attack east of Gaza City. Eleven Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in a cross-border raid by Israeli forces in an area east of Gaza City.
Hamas said one of those killed was a local leader. Nine of the dead were members of the military wing of Hamas, the Islamist movement that controls Gaza. One was a member of the Islamic Jihad group.
Some of the militants were fired on by Israeli aircraft after being identified by ground forces. Others died in an exchange of fire with Israeli troops. Palestinian medics said the eleventh person to die was a civilian, and that children were among the wounded.
Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005 but carries out air strikes to try to curb rocket attacks on its territory. A cameraman working for Hamas TV had both legs amputated after reportedly being shot by Israeli troops.
Ten people were also wounded during the heavy exchanges of fire as Israeli troops and tanks moved in to the area near the Bureij refugee camp, Palestinian medical sources said. Israel said it did not deliberately target journalists, but added that it did not regard anyone working for Hamas as a journalist.
The Israeli forces have now pulled out of Gaza.
