French police are questioning a couple in connection with two headless torsos found in a popular picnic spot in eastern Paris, police sources say.

The pair turned themselves in a day after the discovery of a female body in the forest of Vincennes on Friday.

The couple then allegedly led police to a second corpse - a man's - on Sunday.

They have admitted to killing another couple after an argument about the death of the other pair's child while in their care, the sources said.

Police were first alerted to the case when joggers discovered a decomposing human leg with its foot cut off earlier this month.

On Saturday, a guide dog found the woman's corpse, with its head and legs missing, nearby, according to sources.

The couple, described as being of "Asian origin", are in police custody.
